Founded on New Year's Day in 1879, Blackwell's was a small shop that has expanded over the past 146 years to include 4 floors of books including the Norrington Room (opened in 1966 and in the Guinness Book of Records as the largest room in the world dedicated to selling books) It also has an active events programme and hosts around 150 talks and signings each year.

Blackwell's science fiction & manga shop specialises in science fiction, fantasy and manga books and ephemera.

Shopping with us you'll find exclusively designed gifts based on the Libraries' collections as well as sumptuous textiles, desk accessories and bespoke furnishings. For book lovers, we have a handpicked range which includes exhibition catalogues and richly illustrated titles produced by our award-winning publishers, Bodleian Library Publishing.

The Book Stop in Oxford is an independent bookshop with an eclectic collection of titles.

It is part of Bill & Ben Books – an independent bookselling operation owned and run by Jake Pumphrey and Nick Walsh.

Daunt Books Summertown is a branch of Daunt Books, independent booksellers with a special emphasis on travel. Our carefully curated stock is partially organised by country, incorporating travel guides, fiction and non-fiction, and our friendly and knowledgeable staff are always on hand to give guidance and recommendations. We also have an extensive children's section with a wide range of exciting fiction, non-fiction, beautiful illustrated books and educational titles. The shop is dog friendly, wheelchair accessible, and there is a bathroom with a baby changing unit.

Accessibility: Wheelchair users can enter the shop through the back door, but someone needs to ask for the back door to be opened first. In addition, wheelchair users will only be able to access the ground floor.

Situated in the heart of the city, many of our volunteers, donors, and customers are part of the thriving University community, so we have a wide selection of academic and foreign language books. Our two-storey shop on St Giles in Oxford was the first Oxfam bookshop; Sir John Mortimer came to open it officially in 1987, and returned two decades later to celebrate our 21st birthday.

St Philip's Books specializes in rare and secondhand books in the humanities, notably theology, history, art, classics, philosophy, topography and literature. We also stock a range of new books in classic literature, e.g. Penguin clothbound classics, Chiltern Books, and new book about the Inklings especially C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien. There are about 10,000 books to view in a building dating back to medieval times with a fine Jacoben ceiling.
